EDUCATION
Nearby One Tree Point School catering for years 1-6 has approximately 250 students and is the closest education facility. Less than 6 kms away in Ruakaka the Ruakaka kindergarten caters for pre school children up to the ages of 5. Ruakaka school on SH1 caters for year 1 to 6 and places an emphasis on providing a holistic programme in an environment that stimulates and challenges children both physically and academically.

Bream Bay College, years 7 to 13 is located next to the town centre and is the only intermediate and secondary school in the district. RECREATION
Marsden Cove's 230 berth marina is a boatie's dream. Surrounded by waterfront retail facilities including a restaurant/cafe, bakery and a hairdresser, the marina is the hub of Marsden Cove. Waterfront walkways make it ideal for a gentle stroll or cycle and the cove's close proximity to the inner harbour beaches provide a safe swimming spot, perfect for family picnics and gatherings.
On the third Sunday of every month under the giant event marque on the marina promenade, local growers and craftsmen peddle their wares with plenty of fresh local produce and bespoke crafts to be purchased.
The marina canal provides all tide access to the inner Whangarei harbour. The inner and outer harbour fish well and are playground for recreational divers and fishermen.
